Important info:

1.  Early registration discount of $50 is in effect until midnight, June 30 only.
Returning players registering AFTER June 30 will not receive the early registration discount for any reason and must pay full fees. NO EXCEPTIONS.

2.  A credit card is the only accepted form of payment for registration.

3.  Goalies are urged to register early.
If you are a first time returning goalie, please contact secretary@burnabyminor.com in advance of May 1 to get your Hockey ID number which will be required the first time you use the system for registration. (See details below on BMHA policy)

General Registration Info:
Once early registration is complete, new players will be able to register in person until each division is full. In person registration dates TBA: watch this website for details.

Registration is CLOSED after August 15th and will reopen after September 1 until the teams in each division are full. Once the divisions are full, the Registrar will accept names and will register these players as spots become available on a first come-first serve basis.

Players registering after September 1 may encounter up to a 4 week waiting period to finalize their registration with PCAHA, BCAHA and BMHA.

No player will be permitted to participate before receiving confirmation from
the Registrar that his or her application has been accepted.

Player movements between Burnaby Minor (BMHA) and Burnaby Winter Club (BWC) will be allowed up to and including September 1. As per the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the BWC and BMHA.

Goalies Register Early!
From time to time we have a surplus of goalies at some levels. Every effort will be made to accommodate all the goalies who apply, but sometimes registration has to be cut off and goalies placed on a waiting list.

In general, the priority for goalie registration is FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Sometimes rep goalie cut decisions or other issues may need an Executive decision re goalie placement that is
NOT strictly first come first served.

On-line Registration FAQs:

Q: How long does it take?
A: Don’t start the registration process unless you have time to finish it. It will usually take about 10 minutes per player, however, at any point, especially when it first opens on May 1, traffic may be heavy and the program may run a little slower than usual. Remember, no database is perfect: expect a few hiccups at the start of the season. Be patient and contact secretary@burnabyminor.com if you have a problem you can’t solve. She will do her best to assist if you have difficulties.

Q: What are your refund policies?
A:  All requests for registration fee refunds must be made in writing to the Treasurer.  A reason for refund must be given but will remain confidential.

a)  Refunds requested by August 15 will be given a full refund minus a $50 administration fee.
b)  Refunds requested after August 15 but before September 30 will be at 75% of the registration fee.
c)  Refunds requested October 1 to October 31 will be refunded at 50% of the registration fee.
d)  Refunds requested November 1 to November 30 will be refunded at 25% of the registration fee.
e)  The request date is the date of the e-mail or the post marked date if mailed through traditional mail.
f)  Refunds will not be processed during the period of August 15 to September 30.
g)  Refunds cheques will be mailed or credited to credit card.
h)  No refunds will be issued after November 30.
i)  No refund will be given for Special Player Movement transfers

  • Refunds for Junior, Major Midget & Competitive Female Players
  • Any registered player that obtains a release by September 30 to play for a Junior, Major Midget, or a competitive Female team shall receive a 100% refund less a $50 Administration Fee.  No release will be granted from BMHA to any player with outstanding financial obligations to BMHA.
  • Rep Tryout Fee Refund
  • The rep tryout fee is also non-refundable. Be certain this is what your child wants to do before committing to the process. Rep tryouts traditionally occur the last two weeks in August, so if you aren’t going to be in town then, don’t sign up. Contact headcoach@burnabyminor.com if you have any questions regarding the process.

Q: What information do I need to bring to the in-person registation?
A: When you to go to register, be sure you have the following info in front of you before logging on:

  • Your Hockey ID number OR email address and password used last year.
  • Your full address details including postal code
  • Your child’s Care Card number
  • Two (2) emergency contact names and phone numbers
  • Your credit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express)

Q: How do I get started?
A: Same as last year. Remember, this is a database, so please try to enter your children’s names consistently year to year. Now, to get started:
  • Click on the Hockey Canada Registration link on the main Registration page or the top of this page.
  • Enter either your Hockey ID from last year, or your email address and password. If you have your email address but not the password, click on “forgot password” to the right of the login and your password will be emailed to you. If you still cannot login, and you did use the system last year, please contact the registrar to look up your Hockey ID.
  • All registratrants should be aware that by completing the registration process you are agreeing to the Policies and regulations of the Association. You will be asked to read several documents related to Policy prior to registration. These will be available on-line but are also available under our Forms and Documents tab. It is best to familiarize yourself with our policies in advance of registration. It will make your registration process quicker and will ensure you have a clear understanding of what is expected of both parents and players of our Association.
  • Once logged in, just follow the steps. Fields marked with red stars are mandatory. We have set up the system so only the mother’s contact info is necessary, however, you will be prompted to enter information for the father. This is completely voluntary. If you don’t wish to, simply leave that page blank and click on “next”.
  • Double check your selection before payment: this is your chance to get any discounts you are eligible for and to register for rep tryouts if you want.
  • You will automatically receive a receipt for payment in your email once you have completed it. ALWAYS KEEP THIS RECEIPT! You may need it for tax purposes.

Your email address
Please remember that all correspondence from the Association to you will be done by email. Ensure you have entered the address which you check regularly.

If you change your email address over the course of the season, you must contact secretary@burnabyminor.com with the change, even if you have provided your team manager with this info.
